Sustainable development : how do I reduce my carbon footprint?

What have I done to reduce my carbon footprint?

Hi, Assalamualaikum we meet again in the second post😊 and in this post I would like to share with all of you that what I have done to reduce my carbon footprint. First of all,  I would like to ask have you heard about carbon footprint before this? What is carbon footprint? Honestly, this is the first time I heard about carbon footprint😅 and I learned about it last week, so I would like to share with you guys about carbon footprint.

What is carbon footprint?

A carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gases—primarily carbon dioxide—released into the atmosphere by a particular human activity.

This is the short video that explain what is carbon footprint and what can you do to reduce it.

Although I never heard about carbon footprint before this, I had reduce my carbon footprint😅 and I do it just because of my parents ask me to do what they said😂. How do I reduce it? Let me tell you. This is how I reduce my carbon footprint.

First and foremost, I always bring my own reusable bag when I shop with my family. Actually, my mother who is the one guide me and always remind me to bring reusable bag and I was thinking that maybe my mother ask me to do this because when we shop, we never use plastic bag and if we want plastic bag we must pay 20 cents for each  plastic😆 so I think that my mother and my father want to save their money only😅. The fact is not just save our money, but it is also decrease pollution.

Plastic products such as plastic bags can take between 15 and 1,000 years to break down, and that’s assuming they even make it into a landfill instead of winding up in water such as streams, rivers or the ocean — or floating around the neighborhood. Of the 100 billion plastic shopping bags Americans use each year, only about 1 percent are recycled, so a lot of plastic bag pollution is generated annually.

Furthermore, at home, I always switched off the lights when I leave the room and unplug all the electronic devices when there are not in use. This is also reminder from my mother to make sure that we do it as she said to me and my sisters😂.  Turning the lights off when we leave our room is necessary to help save electricity and lower our utility bills. In addition,  it can also help reduce carbon emission and other harmful greenhouse gases. Hence, turning off our lights is a simple way to help protect the environment and save the planet.

Last but not least, I do planting like plant banana tree, rose flowers, and herbs tree. Planting some greens is a quick and easy way to reduce your carbon footprint. We all know plants absorb carbon dioxide – a beneficial relationship for humans, that we should all be seeking to nurture.

So, this is just some of my ways that I reduce my carbon footprint and there are many ways that we can do to reduce our carbon footprint to be more sustainable such as use a public transport, eat low on the food chain, buy less stuff, recycle things and other than that.

That's all from me 😊 thank you and have a nice day till we meet again for next post. Bye2🙋
